Fees for the 2024-2025 Residency Match Application Cycle

Below is an outline of the Fees for the 2024-2025 Residency Match Application Cycle process from start to finish, and everything in between. Okay, let’s get started!

USMLE (For International Medical Graduates – IMGs)

Exams

  • USMLE Step 1 = $1000 + International Test Delivery Surcharge, if testing outside the US and Canada
  • USMLE Step 2CK = $1000 + International Test Delivery Surcharge, if testing outside the US and Canada

Additional Services

ECFMG 

ECFMG Services

  • ERAS Token = $165
  • Application for ECFMG Certification = $160
  • Application for J-1 Sponsorship = $370**  (** An additional $220 fee, payable to the Department of Homeland Security, is required of initial applicants for J-1 sponsorship.)
  • Medical School Transcript Translation = $250 (if needed)
  • CVS Verification of ECFMG Certification status to State Medical Licensing Authority = $66

ECFMG + USMLE

  • USMLE Transcript (Paper Copy) = $70 per request (up to 10)
  • USMLE Transcript (Electronic) = $80 (Once per ERAS season)

Application to a Pathway for ECFMG Certification for 2025 Match

  • $925

AAMC/ERAS 

Programs Per Specialty

  • Up to 10 = $99
  • 11 – 20 = $19 each
  • 21 – 30 = $23 each
  • 31 or more = $27 each

For example,

100 Emergency Medicine programs [$99.00 + (10 x $19.00) + (10 x $23.00) +(70 x $27.00)] = $2,409.00

Or, if you want to split up your application:

100 OB/GYN programs [$99.00 + (10 x $19.00) + (10 x $23.00) +(70 x $27.00)] + 50 Family Medicine programs [$99.00 +(10 x $19.00) + (10 x $23.00) + (20 x 27.00) = $3,468.00

**Note, AAMC/ERAS takes Visa, MasterCard, American Express, or Discover Cards. All fees are non-refundable, therefore, you will want to research programs carefully.

NRMP® 

  • Registration Fee = $70 (includes the listing of up to 20 programs on the primary rank order list and up to 20 programs on all supplemental rank order lists combined)
  • Late Fee = $50 (after January 31st)
  • Couples = $45 additional per partner
  • Additional Programs = $30 per program (For rank order lists with 100 or more ranks, additional charges apply.)
